Institute of Physical Education and Sport

The Institute of Physical Education and Sport was established on January 1, 2007 in accordance with Rector’s Instruction No. 1/2007, and it is an autonomous workplace of the Czech Technical University in Prague. The Institute was created by the merging of the Departments of Physical Education of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and the Institute of Physical Education and Sport of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering CTU in Prague.

Main fields of the Institute activity:

• Provides all forms of regular term-time classes of Physical Education at the faculties of CTU.
• Provides and organizes winter and summer sports courses in the Czech Republic and abroad.
• Organizes once-off sports events for students and university staff.
• Organizes the representation of CTU in national Academic Sports Championships, in the Czech University Games, and in international sports events.
• Carries through development programs and conducts research in the area of Physical Education and Sport.
• Administers and operates the CTU Physical Education facilities.
• Cooperates with university Physical Education units to provide sports activities at CTU.
